Meet Malynda.
Malynda McLaughlin is a devoted wife, proud mom of four, small business owner, and active member of the Harpersville community. She and her husband, Brady, have made Harpersville their home and are raising their children with a deep commitment to faith, family, and service. As a first-time candidate, Malynda is stepping up—not as a politician, but as a neighbor, parent, and citizen who cares deeply about the future of her town.
Originally from Fairhope, AL, Malynda holds a Bachelors Degree from Samford University. Malynda and her family now reside on some land on Farmingdale Road near Old Baker Farm. She and her family attend the Church of Chelsea Westover (CCW) and also serve to support foster parents with the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home & Family Ministries.
Malynda's days are filled with real-life leadership: managing the needs of a growing family, serving as VP of Brands for GoRescue (a lifesaving small business she co-founded), supporting her husband’s public safety and business endeavors, and volunteering through her local church. Through it all, she remains committed to being present, proactive, and principled.
Malynda is running for Harpersville Town Council, District 2, Place 1, because she believes our small town deserves strong, responsive, and grounded leadership. She brings a fresh, common-sense approach to local government—one rooted in real-world experience, not politics. She wants to ensure Harpersville remains a place where families can thrive, small businesses can grow, and every citizen has a voice that’s heard and respected.
Her campaign is centered on three key priorities:
Public Safety: Malynda believes a safe community is a strong community. She supports our police officers, firefighters, and first responders and will prioritize funding and resources to help them protect and serve effectively.
Family-First, Business-Friendly: Malynda wants to make Harpersville a town where people love to live and work. She’ll support initiatives that strengthen family life and encourage the success of local small businesses.
Government Transparency: Malynda will fight for open communication and financial responsibility. She supports live-streaming Town Council meetings and careful oversight of every taxpayer dollar, ensuring funds are used to directly improve the community.
Malynda also believes in term limits and has publicly pledged to serve no more than two terms—because public service should be about accountability, not career politics.
She knows leadership begins with listening, and she’s committed to hearing the concerns, hopes, and ideas of her fellow citizens. Malynda would be honored to earn your trust—and your vote—as your next Town Councilmember for District 2, Place 1.
